The Walkmill provides comprehensive facilities for guests who arrive by public transport or pedal power.
The Walkmill Welcomes Cyclists and Walkers:
- We can arrange to collect you (and your bicycles) from a local train station, or if you prefer we can provide details of a local taxi company;
- We can pre-order all your groceries;
- We provide maps and details on recommended walks and cycle rides;
- We provide an emergency cycle and puncture repair kit;
- We provide a first aid kit;
- Flask, water bottles and picnic hampers available on request.
Walkmill House provides:
- A large utility area for the drying of outdoor clothing and footwear;
- This utility area can also be used as a secure place to store bicycles;
- An exterior hose for washing off dirty boots and wellies.
Walkmill Lodge provides:
- A small drying room (accessed through the bathroom) with space to hang coats and to dry boots;
- We can provide a secure area to store your bicycles in our barns/garages which are behind Walkmill Lodge.
In both cottages you will find details of:
- Local walks and cycle rides;
- Local pubs and restaurants;
- Opening hours of the local shop (only 300 metres away!);
- The local weather forecast (via the Satellite TV);
- The nearest cycle hire outlet and cycle repairs/spares shop;
- The Countryside Code;
- The nearest bank and cash machine;
- The nearest Doctor, Dentist, Hospital and all night Chemist.
